Upper West Region’s Baci replicated her sterling performances over the past two weeks on Sunday, September 28 when she won her third consecutive Star Performer award of Ghana’s Most Beautiful VIII.

All the ladies educated audience and viewers about the significance of some festivals in the country.

But it was Baci, whose performance on the stage took the breath of the three judges away.

There was no eviction.

Sunday’s show saw radio talk host and presenter of popular television show Who Wants to be a Rich, Kafui Dey, assess the contestants as a guest judge.

Resident judges Linda Ampah and David Dontoh called for the transformation of Ghanaian festivals especially making them commercially viable in order to promote the socio-economic aspect of the nation's development.

Greater Accra Region’s Achawa was named the Best Behaved contestant for the week.

Shatta Wale USA0
Reigning artiste of the year, Shatta Wale will not apologise to Charterhouse and GhOne television station for his allegations made against them, Bull Dog, Shatta Wale’s manager has stated.

According to the outspoken manager, Shatta Wale did what was right in the series of videos he released last week insulting and accusing Charter House and their television station GhOne for not showing his videos.

He said, “there is no way, under God’s earth that we are apologizing. Shatta Wale has no intention to do that. When we say SM, we mean serious matters and these are issues worrying and troubling us this industry so we will not apologise for being ourselves. We will not apologise for speaking the truth.”

In an interview with Sammy Flex on Pluzz FM, an Accra-based radio station, Bull Dog made it clear that Shatta Wale and his management are ready to meet Charterhouse in court if they have planned to sue them.

“Director of GHOne, Nii Ayittey Hammond spoke on two platforms and he said they were going to court. We are ready for them," he indicated.

Bull Dog further recommended a lawyer who can win the case for Charter House if they plan to pursue their lawsuit against Shatta Wale, "There is a lawyer who can only win the case that I will like to recommend for them."

"If they can get this lawyer, they will win the case against us but if they don’t get that lawyer, they should forget. The lawyer is called Alan Shore of Boston Legal series. If they can’t get that lawyer, they should forget the court,” he further said.

PRO for Charter House, George Quaye, told Sammy Flex on the show that Charter House has no intention of taking Shatta Wale to court for his utterances because it is not the first time the 'Dancehall King’ hitmaker is accusing them with no facts.

Shatta Wale days ago released four short videos accusing GhOne of blacklisting him on their platform.

Actor Koomusuo slams Big Akwes for portraying women as 'cheap'

KooMusuoKumaWood
Actor, Bernard Aduse-Poku popularly known as Koomusuo, has described comments by his fellow actor, Big Akwes that actors, producers and movie directors sleep with female actresses for roles as unfortunate.

Akwasi Asamoah known in showbiz as Big Akwes on RTV’s 'Agoro Fie' challenged movie producers to deny his assertion that they have been sleeping with actresses, adding that whoever comes out to deny, he will curse him.

“Whoever says producers do not sleep with actors should follow me to Antoa. I will curse all of them, and we shall see who will die. Directors and producers have slept with the ladies. I have had sexual intercourse with some of them, and I continue to do it,” Big Akwes' declaration on RTV.

Responding to the claims on Radio Univers’ Brunch2Lunch with Abrantepa, Bernard stated that Big Akwes went too far., “a gentleman won’t speak in that manner. He has disgraced women by portraying them as cheap."

Adding, "the platform where he made such comments is very wrong. I don’t know whether he was trying to be boastful or what. If it were elsewhere, he would have paid dearly for his utterances.”

He further indicated that, “already, there is a wrong perception about actors and for an actor to make such a distasteful statement is unwarranted.”

Asked how he (Bernard) would have answered the question, he responded, “I would have asked why he is asking such a question knowing that it’s an open secret that, such acts happen in every human institution."

"But the way he (Big Akwes) said it made it seem you can take advantage of ladies just like that,” he said.

Shatta Wale USA7
Ghanaian-based America female radio presenter, Tulip real name Naa Ameley Tagoe has also thrown her support for Shatta Wale for his fight.

VIDEO: Mzbel apologizes for choosing Shatta Wale over Samini

Mzbel Pregnant
Singer, Mzbel, had apologised to Dancehall act, Samini, for a comment she made few weeks ago when she appeared as a guest on Let’s Talk Entertainment on Multi TV.

On the program, she chose Shatta Wale over Samini when asked which of the two was her favourite act.

She said, “I am a Shatta Walean. I love Samini, but Shatta Wale is trending, so I am for him. He is down to earth and inspires the people of the streets. Samini used to be that, but he lost it!

Few weeks later, the '16 Years' composer has had a change of thought.

According to her, she didn't know that there was a beef between the two Dancehall acts and that, her words were based on that fact that, the self-acclaimed Dancehall King was making waves and trending.

“I know a lot of people are disappointed in me for making that comment about Shatta Wale and Samini. But the thing is I have no idea … I didn't know the extent of their beef,” she told ghanagist.com

Adding, “I even didn't know that there was a problem between the two of them. I spoke like a layman on the street who listens to music. And the thing is, nowadays everywhere you go, you hear Shatta Wale’s music played everywhere, every party, every event, every club.”

According to her, she had received lots of calls from influential people in the industry ever since she openly chose Shatta Wale over Samini. But she constantly stressed that, “Honestly, I didn’t mean any harm," continuing that, if she knew of any problem between them, “I wouldn’t have commented at all.”

When asked if she had phoned Samini to apologise, and also explain to him what led to those comments, she said she hadn't.

However, she mentioned to ghanaGist.com that, she is in talks with some industry personnel, which include President of the Musicians Union of Ghana to assist her in apologizing to Samini, if whatever she had said infuriated him or his fans.

joey B I cry within myself over why I am not able to approach ladies"

Joey B ;I cry within myself over why I am not able to approach ladies"

Joeybboy
Perhaps, critics would not have bothered themselves so much expressing their angst over the supposed risqué meaning of Joey B’s Tonga song if they had known that the rapper himself cannot rap a lady no matter how beautiful she appears to him.

Joey B’s 'incapacity' that he would rather prefer to keep personal is the fact that he finds it very difficult chatting up a lady for fear of being bounced.

According to the Tonga hit-maker, any time he meets a lady he admires, he goes “chicken” and prays that the lady should rather approach and make the first move on him.

“I have met a number of beautiful ladies I wish I dated them but I allowed them go because I did’t want to be the first to approach them. Sometimes when I’m alone, I cry within myself over why I am not able to approach ladies”, Joey B told Showbiz on Tuesday.

Explaining why he will never approach a lady, Joey B said he cannot imagine a lady 'flexing' him; "For this reason, I prefer to admire the ladies, but not to approach them. Some ladies have said all sorts of things about me, but this is how I have been since a teenager,” he said.

Talking about his lady, Joey B, real name, Darryl Bannerman-Martin, said he prefers an average size lady with natural looks. “I don’t like women who put on excessive make-up or artificial hair. I like simple and natural ladies.”

Even though, Joey B claims he is romantic and caring, he failed to comment when he was asked whether his ex-girl friends were the first to make the approach on him.

Apart from Tonga, Joey B, who won New Artiste of the Year at the VGMA this year is known for other songs such as Strawberry Ginger, Cigarette and Benedicta.

Born to Mr. Samuel Bannerman-Martin and Madam Bridget Amoateng, Joey B came to limelight when Black Avenue Muzik boss and rapper, D-Black, featured him on his hit song Oh Vera.

He had his primary education from St. Theresa’s school and later went to Accra High Senior High School. He graduated at Zenith College two years ago.
